Why ESS/Leave Entry can't show time when staffs apply leave/user input Leave Entry?
Normally, the leave duration would be calcuated by the system automatically when you input the Leave Entry in Backstage or staff apply leave in ESS.
But sometimes you may find staffs try to apply leave in ESS or you try to input the Leave Entry, there is no leave time and duration shown in this application, therefore they can’t apply leave or create the Leave Entry and below error would be shown.
In Backstage, you need to assign the Roster to staff, which is a working schedule to let Backstage decide the time they start to work and the time they off duty every day.
When staffs apply leave or the back-end user try to input the Leave Entry , the system will get the staff Roster schedule to determine the leave duration. If there is no shift assigned in the roster, the system cannot calculate the leave time and duration.
Ways to handle ESS/Leave Entry can't show time when staffs apply leave/user input Leave Entry
There are different ways to assign and revise roster:
1) Go to Attendance->Roster
- Assign shift(s) in their roster in Backstage, Or
- Define the Default shift in the staff roster. After assigning a Default Shift, whenever you are working with roster where shift is not yet defined, the Default Shift will be used.
Or
2) Go to ESS (Manage shift)->Team Roster and assign shift(s) in their roster
Confirm this leave date is not a rest day for this staff because sometimes rest day is not counted as taken for some leave types.
